Anyway, I heard about this blog party--started by Hamlette at The Edge of The Precipice --from my bestest friend Ceci at Ceci Creates, and I am so glad she told me about it, because I am a SUPERHUGE Tolkien fan! I thought, "What else do you write in your very first post ever, other than something you love?" So! Here goes this AMAZING blog party!
1. What's your favorite Middle-earth story/book?
Definitely the Lord of the Rings trilogy! ...that sounds so mainstream...
2. Do you have a favorite subplot?
Um, yeah! Legolas' and Gimli's friendship development! They are so funny together!
3. What's your favorite theme in Tolkien's books? (Can be in one specific story, or overall.)
I love the overall theme of loyalty. I mean, gosh, this world would be an amazingly different place if everyone just showed HALF the loyalty that the characters in The Lord of The Rings do.
4. Do you have a favorite weapon from Middle-earth?
Em...everyone else says Sting or Glamdring... uh... does the Ring count? :P Just kiddin'! I think it would be awesome to have Legolas' bow (or Legolas' daggers. Or his sword.).
5. Would you like to be a hobbit?
Uuuuuuuum.... no. I am quite content with being an Elf. I don't think I could stand not being able to reach the top shelf. BUT in a hobbit hole I guess the shelves would be to scale, so you wouldn't have that problem. ;-)
6. Do you have a favorite romance/couple?
EMIGOSH I LOVE FARAMIR AND EOWYN TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!! Y'all, seriously, they are so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sorry.
7. What's your favorite Middle-earth creature? (Can be "real" or "imaginary.")
Oh, definitely Balrogs.
YOU REALLY THOUGHT I MEANT THAT?????????? Haha, gotcha!
Um... do Elves count as creatures? :P (no idea where I was gonna take that...)
8. What character do you look the most like?
Um, I would like to say that I look like Legolas, because when I do my super-long hair a certain way........ ;-) BTW, one of my nicknames from my friend's sister is "Girl Legolas". AND. NUFF SAID. I LOVE IT.
But I think that if looks came to anything I might look like one of the "extras" in no particular scene. :P
9. Are there any books about Middle-earth or Professor Tolkien (but not written by him) you recommend?
Dang, I really wish I could answer this one! Unfortunately, though, I can't. I haven't read anything about Middle-Earth or Professor Tolkien (although if I had it my way, I would have my own room, lined with shelves full of Middle-Earth books, posters all over the wall of all my favorite characters........mainly Legolas...........). Sorry about that, Tolkien fans! BUT you know there are other awesome fans that have done this tag and I'm sure that they have some great suggestions! :D
10. List up to ten of your favorite lines/quotations from the Middle-earth books and/or movies.
And there you have it! My answers to this awesome tag, AND my first blog post on The Life Of An Elf! Many thanks to Hamlette at The Edge Of The Precipice and also to Ceci at Ceci Creates!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Victoria! :D
DeleteI'm so honored that your tag post for my party is your very first blog post on your new blog! Wow, that's special.
ReplyDeleteI've been surprised nobody's talked about the ring as a weapon yet, to be honest. It's evil, sure, but wow, so... cool?
I like your selection of favorite lines! Especially the last one -- very nice.
Thanks for joining the party!
And thank you for starting the party, Hamlette! BTW, love that name. And I was totally joking about the Ring. :P
DeleteThanks! I've been going by Hamlette, in one area of life or another, for 20 years now, and I'm definitely attached to it :-)
