An Incredibly Epic Catholic Prayer--Happy (late) Feast of Corpus Christi!

Hi Elflings!

So, as you might know, I am Catholic (and glad to be so ;-) ). And we Catholics have a lot of different prayers for different occasions. I want to discuss one of those prayers today, and what makes it so "incredibly epic" in my humble opinion. :)

 The Divine Praises

The Divine Praises is a prayer that is usually said at the end of Eucharistic Exposition, and is one of my favorite prayers EV--ER. It just gives me the chills to hear the voices of a hundred people echoing through a beautiful church in such unity and power. UGH IT IS AMAZING. If you haven't ever heard that I pity you. It is EPIC.
Let me give you the full prayer.

~The Divine Praises~

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be his most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be his most precious Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in his angels and in his saints.

UGHHHHH THAT LAST LINE IN BOLD GIVES ME SUCH CHILLS TO HEAR IT. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL.
For the feast of Corpus Christi (The Body and Blood of Christ), we had a Eucharistic Procession after Mass. And MAN. It. Was. AMAZING. And then singing Holy God We Praise Thy Name after that was just *aaaaaaaawesome*

I hope you enjoyed this post even though it was short :P! What are some of your favorite prayers? Are there any that hold special importance for you? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This is when I realize that I’ve never been present at the end of Eucharistic Exposition. I AM SO SAD. I MUST HEAR THIS NOW.

  2. Oooohhh! Yesssss!!!!! This prayer is simple yet so beautiful! <3. I can totally relate.

I have a relatively new favorite night prayer from Fr. Lasance's "Catholic Girls Guide."
"When at night I lay me down
    God's protecting love I own.
Heart and hands to Him I raise,
For His gifts I give Him praise.
Forgive me, Lord, for Thy dear Son,
The ills that I this day have done,
And let His cross my refuge sure
Preserve my soul from thoughts impure.
May holy angels while I sleep
Their watchful guard around me keep.
    Amen."

    God bless!
